What is Twittaw?
Twittaw is a Social Messaging Service focused around threaded notes. Its main focus it to enhance the exchange of fuller conversations. It works along with the Twitter API.
How do i join?
The only thing you need is a Twitter ID. No other registration is required because Twittaw works along with the Twitter API. Your Twitter username and password are never shared with us or anyone else. Twittaw uses the Twitter OAuth Login Form so your details never leave Twitter side.
Why is Twittaw using Twitter IDs?.
It is the best way to eliminate any registration friction. This way you don’t need to fill up your details or worry about having yet another online profile. You only need to login with your Twitter ID and that is it, you are using Twittaw.
What if i don't want any Twitter integration?.
You have to login to Twittaw with a Twitter ID the first time, but after that if you don't want any Twitter Integration, you can use the Google Account Association setting and then only use Twittaw with a Google Account. If that is the case, there will be no cross-posting to Twitter whatsoever.
Is Twittaw a Twitter client?.
No. Twittaw its a Social Messaging Service of its own. It can be used as a companion app to Twitter because you can Cross-Post all your Twittaw activity to Twitter.
Is Twittaw also 140 characters only like Twitter?.
No, there is no character limit in Twittaw. If you choose to share your Twittaw content with Twitter, only the first 100 characters of your notes or comments are shared across to Twitter. The rest of the characters (40) are used to mark and shortlink the tweets to the correspondent Twittaw Thread.
What are the differences of Twittaw?
That you :
- Don’t have any character limits,
- Can style your note as much or as little as you want
- Can embed pictures just by linking to its file url ( EX: http://_photolink_.png)
- Can embed videos (YouTube or NicoVideo) just by posting a link to their address url (EX: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUB_sKWvZ_4)
- Can link out fully to any website page without the need of url shorteners,
- Can follow the conversation easily because all notes are threaded and tracked by activity,
- Can track your or any user or any harshtag on Twittaw via a RSS feed
- Can edit your notes and comments in case you have a typo or a link you share is broken,
- Can reply better to others as Twittaw helps you to specify to who or/and to what exact comment in any given thread your are replying automatically.
- Can use Twittaw in any Desktop Browser, SSB App Manager and Smartphone Mobile Browser without any UI-UX change. It will look and work the same way.
- Can use it as a companion to Twitter too. So while it is a stand alone service, you can also use it to improve your use of Twitter. And you choose if you want to use it with Twitter or not.
